Deceased Account Servicing
(Death Notifications)

It is the intention of Transit Employees Federal Credit Union (TEFCU) to provide specific guidelines for members to follow when providing TEFCU with a death notification. The purpose of this guideline is to ensure taking appropriate action as it relates to providing death notifications to TEFCU.

Required Documents

  1. A copy of the Deceased Person’s Death Certificate. (Mandatory)
  2. A copy of the legal document that proves your authority as the deceased’s Administrator, Executor or Surviving Spouse, if applicable.

Death notifications can be given via:

Gather and provide the following information:

  1. Deceased’s member’s name 
  2. Account number (if known)
  3. Name, address, and contact information of your contact information
  4. Relationship with the deceased member 
  5. Date of death
  6. Date the notice was given
