Fraud Alerts

Fraud Alerts is an additional free* service offered by TEFCU to help mitigate fraudulent activity on your account.

This service is available if you provide us with your mobile phone number. You agree that fraud alert text or phone messages, or phone calls (“Alerts”) may be made to the mobile phone number you provided to us, until you change the mobile phone number or opt-out of the service. You will receive Alerts when certain activities or transactions occur on your account that may be suspected fraudulent activity. You acknowledge that the text messages may not be encrypted and may contain personal or confidential information, or information on the status of your account. You are responsible for immediately notifying us, upon receipt of an Alert, if the transaction(s) is/are fraudulent. You are responsible for immediately notifying us when you change your mobile phone number or if you lose your mobile device. If you do not notify us immediately upon receipt of an Alert that the transactions are fraudulent, update your mobile phone number within 24 hours of a change in your mobile phone number, or notify us if your mobile device has been lost or stolen within 24 hours of from the date of loss, TEFCU will not be liable for any losses. TEFCU reserves the right to terminate this service at any time. For your convenience, this service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You may receive an Alert at any time, day or night. TEFCU does not guarantee the timeframe when an Alert will be delivered. Alerts may not be delivered or delayed if your phone is not within range of a cell tower, or if sufficient network capacity is not available at a particular time. Alerts are only received within the United States.  You accept sole responsibility for the accuracy of the mobile phone number on file with TEFCU and the safekeeping of your mobile device. TEFCU is not responsible for any compromised Alerts. TEFCU is not responsible for any charges that your mobile service provider may charge.

Alerts will never ask you to provide any personal information, account number, or other confidential information. If you receive such a request, do not respond and contact us immediately.

You agree that TEFCU will not be liable for failed, delayed, or misdirected delivery of any information sent through this service, any errors in such information, any action you may take or not take in reliance on this information, or any disclosure of personal or account information to third-parties. You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold TEFCU harmless against any third-party claims, liability, damages, or costs arising from your use of this service.

* Texting or data charges from your service provider may/will apply; check with your service provider to confirm.

E-SIGN Act Disclosure and Consent

You understand that in order to open accounts, apply for loans, request additional products and services, submit a credit application to, engage in loans and related transactions with TEFCU and to view and retain a copy of the related notices, disclosures, applications, agreements, authorizations, acknowledgements, terms and conditions, and other documents during the course of our relationship with you (collectively, "Documents") you must consent to receive Documents and engage in transactions and enter into contracts and agreements electronically. This applies to all documents, notices, and disclosures that we provide to you relating to your share account(s) or loan(s), except as otherwise prohibited by law. We will not provide you with paper (non-electronic) copies of any Documents unless specifically requested by you.

Described below are the terms and conditions for providing Documents to, and transacting business with you electronically. Please read the information below carefully and thoroughly.

You acknowledge and agree that we may provide you with the Documents in electronic format, and that we are not required to send a paper document to you, unless and until you withdraw your consent as described below. Requesting Paper Copies

You may request from us a paper copy of any Document that we have provided or made available to you electronically without charge, provided that such request is made within a reasonable time after we first provided the Document to you. To request paper copies, of any Documents contact us at, send a message on TEFCU Mobile, or call (301) 289-9800, option 1.

Withdrawing Your Consent

You may withdraw your consent at any time; however, this may result in the revocation of your ability to obtain future products and services from TEFCU through electronic channels. To request and receive future products and services electronically, a new E-SIGN consent would be required. You may withdraw your consent to receive Documents electronically by sending a message through TEFCU Mobile, by visiting a TEFCU branch, or by calling TEFCU at (301) 289-9800, option 1.

Your withdrawal of consent will be effective only after we have had a reasonable period of time to process your request.
